There are numerous applications in hospitals and other industries where items and documents are required to be moved from one department to another. Often, the movement of these items is required very frequently throughout the day and must be done in a very timely manner. The physical location of the departments may be several hundred feet apart or in some cases on separate floors of a large multi-story facility. Other examples of point-to-point transfer of items are from one operations center to another. Packing lists to the shipping department for processing and truck manifest documents from incoming truck terminals to the office for processing and back to the driver. Steel mills and foundries that require lab testing of samples readily benefit from the use of a pneumatic tube system. Small samples of hot, molten metal can be taken and sent to the lab where it is tested for the correct properties desired of the metal. The Ezy-Flow System is designed to meet the demands of point-to-point transfer of items or material and can be configured using tubing from 3” in diameter to 8” in diameter plus a special tube system with a 4” x 7” cross section.
